February 22, 2018 – Newtown Savings Bank recently opened an exciting new branch bank at 32 Church Hill Road in Newtown, in a brand new development known as The Village at Lexington Gardens. This branch is a relocation of their existing branch previously located in their Corporate Headquarters on Route 25 in Newtown. This relocation was needed to make way for a master plan renovation to their headquarters which allows for a consolidation of external departments as well as internal growth.

Our client’s goal, and our challenge, was to design a branch that presents a firm dedication to their customers, a design that respects the rich heritage of the bank and the town, while also offering many new ways of banking that customers are asking for.

The design solution was a transitional design with the use of traditional detailing of painted wood and vinyl flooring in the main Lobby for warmth of the past.

Marble teller pods, contemporary carpeting and all glass office and conference fronts bridged the past to the present.

The new branch features art by renowned Newtown artist Charles Fulkerson. The works feature paintings of a dozen of Newtown’s historic Main Street homes.
