As is typical, the beginning of the New Year marks the end of the last. Over the past 12 months, we have been awarded a number of projects while also continuing on others both in our Bridgeport and Norwalk office.  Here are some of our highlights for 2014.

We were awarded major projects in the residential and corporate sectors such as Housing Authority on-call design services contracts and modernization projects for Waterbury, West Haven, and Hartford as well as a 19,000SF interior office renovation for Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder in Bridgeport.

As for our financial sector work, we completed the Savings Bank of Danbury’s New Milford branch which includes the latest technology for the 4,600SF space, and we continue to work with our clients of almost 20 years, Webster Bank.

Our institutional projects have encompassed the largest efforts for the year. We continued our design services for the University of Bridgeport and completed the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business which is part of nearly 20 CHEFA funded projects totaling $25,000,000. The CREC Medical Profession & Teacher Preparation Academy, a new $64,500,000, 145,000SF facility in New Britain was completed in June and won the institutional category for the 2014 Masonry Construction Project of the Year. Roosevelt Elementary School, a 34.8M, 85,000SF Pre-K to 8th Grade facility in Bridgeport is scheduled for completion to start the 2015-2016 academic year. West Haven High School, a new 275,000SF facility is in mid-design and a new design will begin for Harding High School to now accommodate a 1,150 student enrollment in Bridgeport.

We also had major strides in our Norwalk office as we were awarded a $377,000 capital improvement project for Onyx Equities at 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains, NY, as well as another capital improvements project for Marcus Partners at two office buildings located on Wright Street in Westport.

As for our highlights within our firm, we were proud to announce Stephanie Barbagiovanni as Senior Associate in January. Paul Antinozzi and Ken Oppedisano introduced “The QR: Quarterly Review of Economic Development” at the Bridgeport Regional Business Council Annual Meeting in June. We also participated in our 12th year of the ACE Mentor Program teaming up with high school students from Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, and Stratford.

We had a great year and are looking forward to what 2015 will bring.
